    your factoring is correct

    e^x(x+1) = 0

    one way to get zero is x = -1

    e^x is never 0, but it could be really small as x -> negative infinity

    e^x(x+1)=0

    e^x = 0 >>>no solution

    (x+1) = 0

    x = -1

    e^x = 0 or x+1=0

    The first condition has no solution, but the second has one.

    x=-1
