Shortcut on desktop is the actual folder?
I have a shortcut on my laptops desktop and want to delete it, but if I do it deletes the actual folder (my documents) how do I fix this? I feel stupid.

right click on it go to properties and on the "general" tab where it says type if it is shortcut (.lnk) you are safe to delete it if it says file folder you will lose anything that is on it

regularly if u delete the shortcut folder in trouble-free terms the shortcut is deleted. u can delete it and bypass examine if the unique folder remains there. if no longer fix it from the recycling bin
