ubuntu is too hard to use?

i am not a programer, i just want to play mabinogi, i dont have a windows OS to use so i DLed ubuntu, ive spent the last five hours trying to figure out how to simply install the mabinogisetup.exe that i downloaded.. ive gone through several differernt websites and their manuals.. their setup must be different because i dont see an applications tab in the software center.. and mabinogi does not show up in the trillions of lists of files available for install.. when i extract the mabinogi files it dumps them all into extra folders.. that i open.. leading me to the defualt folder.. allowing me to extract them.. again...wtf..

i have no idea how to start this program or even how to install it from the download folder

i have installed wine, although i dont know how to start the forking thing.. i opened a terminal window.. which does didly squat.

could someone do a step by step explaination of just how the hell i am supposed to go from this wierd desktop and on to installing mabinogi (a windows game but im told people play it on ubuntu also, otherwise i wouldnt have installed it) i have the latest version of ubuntu i think as i just installed and updated it all.

i go to the software center.. and from that point all the how-to websites lose me since theres no application tab anywhere on that fking menu. ANYWHERE.

Update:

Well what i need really is just an explaination on how to install programs on this OS, and to have it explained how i can run autoinstall (or its equivalent), and how to turn on programs.. theres no menu to run installed programs that ive found in my digging.

mabinogi is an MMO, and ive downloaded the setup installer and files.. i see it in my downloads folder.. but all i can do is extract the files.. i cant seem to make them run.

    Ubuntu is a great OS, you have it now so take the time to learn how to use it, the more you use it for basic websurfing and stuff the better you will get to know it. It is like a manual car vs auto, once you learn it, you are all the better for it.

    The Applications tab is usually located on the top bar of the desktop, if it is not there try Right Click on the top bar and it should appear as a choice, if not you may get a choice "Add to Panel" select that and choose "Application Launcher"

    look here ubuntu+Mabinogi->http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=724676

    and look here to restore Applications tab->http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1388193

    If you still have no luck go to the Ubuntu forums, they are really helpful and they know this stuff cold, ask your question there, you will get an answer in an hour (average).

    Linux is a great choice for a PC system. It is generally easy to use, even for non-computer types. Almost anyone can start using a Linux PC straight away, if they already know how to use the mouse, keyboard, menus, etc.

    But you are trying to run a Microsoft windows programme on a Linux windows system. Yes, Wine makes it possible, but it is not one of the easy things about Linux. Wine is perhaps the hardest thing about Linux. Likewise, trying to run a Linux PC programme on Microsoft system can be tricky because they are not designed for each other usually.

    Sorry, I do not know anything about this mabinogi programme. Perhaps there is already a Linux equivalent.

    Linux is not an operating system for ordinary people. It is favored by geeks and nerds, but it requires too much tweaking and specialized knowledge to be viable as a replacement for Windows for the average user.

    Normal people typically install either Windows or Mac OS, both of which are user-friendly enough for just about anyone. But Linux is a very bad choice. To some extent, you get what you pay for.
