What do foreigners think of us Aussies...?

Considering there has been heaps of questions about what it's like to live in Australia, and a lot of others bagging us.....I would just like to let all you Aussie's know that there is a segment on channel seven's Today Tonight (from the previews I saw) tonight (Tuesday 12th Feb) that adresses just that. So let's all check it out, and voice our opinions as Aussies, after the program airs. Might be interesting what the rest of the world really thinks of us....even though half of them have never been here !!

So funny. Here we have respondents saying they don't give a rats about what others think of Australians and criticising the question asker. But these very same people jump up and down as though they have ants in their pants if anyone dares to say anything unflattering about the country, in other questions and answers in here.

These people get insulted and called trolls. Talk about being two faced. But I will watch the show tonight (if I remember!) and do an edit to my answer.

Having lived and worked just about anywhere, with just about any nationality of colleagues, I maintain a Top-Five ranking for Australians in my book. To me, they are right on a level with the British, the Scandinavians, and the Dutch when it comes to... well, most things.

The one thing that does stick out to me about Australians is their ability to both "go deep" and "take it lightly" within a split second. This makes them very rewarding to be with, because not only do they tend to "get you" pretty quickly, intellectually speaking, but they're also great at not getting on your nerves. So, pretty sincere and sometimes hearty, but really quite a good sort.

    I'd live there any time.

I've never been to Australia but I'd love to go within the next year or two. I haven't heard anything bad about you guys. From what I've heard most of you are laid back, like to have fun, and are just cool people haha. Plus you guys have sick accents that I'm extremely jealous of.

    Live in California.

Whether you are asking foreigners to give thier two cents worth or whatever , as an Aussie I couldnt give a rats. You can have anyone write anything here, it's all water off my back. I have no small minded worry about what others think. Im getting on with my life and dont have the petty worry about someones opinion. They like--they dont like,

    so what?

Let's not !. You are sounding like those in the big country in the northern hemisphere... wanting the world to love them.

Are any of so childish and needy that we need to do that?
