If I order plane tickets online, how do I get them?

Do they come in the mail or do I have to pick them up?

All air tickets booked online are e-tickets aka electronic tickets saved inside airlines' computer network. Your confirmation email with a ticket number and confirmation code is the proof of purchase and whenever you contact the airline about your tickets, the first thing they ask for is the confirmation code so you should take note of it. Airlines are no longer giving out paper tickets unless you ask for one and this will cost extra, at least US$10 each.

With e-tickets, you should be able to check in online from the airline's website at least 24 hours before departure, and probably print your own boarding pass(es) too, depending on if it's a domestic or international ticket or some other factors. At the airport, all you need to show is your government issued photo id, or a passport with a valid visa for international flights. Basically no paper tickets are necessary anymore in today's travel industry.

You can a) print your boarding pass online within 24 hours of your flight departure b) show your ID at the ticketing counter the day of your flight and they will give them to you there.

You get an e-cost tag. this is all digital, no paper. once you examine-in on your flight, you are able to the two test your passport or test any mastercard inclusive of your call on it, and you'd be waiting to print your boarding passes. you additionally can examine-in on line utilising your pc and print your boarding bypass in the previous going to the airport. in basic terms carry your identity (if flight is in the U. S.) or your passport and you'd be superb. airlines are attempting to do away with paper tickets. in case you insist on getting one, you will ought to call the airline and e book the tickets via utilising telephone and ask for a paper cost tag. although, once you e book throughout the time of the telephone, there is in many cases a $10 surcharge extra on.

It depends, you can simply print it off of your computer after you check in online or you receive and email containing a barcode which you scan and acts as your boarding pass. At least this is how it is with delta.
