Why is my stainless steel pot developing white circles inside?

I recently purchased a stainless steel cooking pot (http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/sunwealth-stainless-st...

I only use it to boil plain old city tap water; NOTHING ELSE.

After one use, I noticed a bunch of white circles developed inside ranging in size from pin sized to marble sized. See : http://s998.beta.photobucket.com/user/YMS_1975/lib...

What is causing this?

    It can be calcium deposits from the water. Do you know if you live in an area where the water contains much calcium? Try to put something lightly acidic in the pot, like vinegar, and see if the deposits goes away.
