Question re baby not sleeping?
My 6 month old is so hard to put to sleep! Now he rolls onto his belly as soon as I put him into his cot and proceeds to do tummy time with his head high in the air. Then he gets cranky and I have to go in to rock him and put him back to sleep on his side. I have to do this for about 2 hours each night. His hands are free as he does roll onto his tummy in his sleep sometimes. When I do get him to sleep, I put him on his back and he rolls straight onto his side. But that is after hours of trying to get him to go to bed. It's 9.30pm now and I'm still trying to get him to sleep! Any advice or suggestions please!?

my son started doing that at 7 months and i bought him a baby pillow it's very thin but soft and it's Ideal because there's less chances of cot death they ain't cheap for what they are but they work, my son rolls on his tummy head up high then relaxes back down once he realized he had a soft pillow it seemed to help him back to sleep, or another could be that he doesn't like his mattress i had to change mine for my first son because it wasn't right for him. comfort is everything to a child it's why they liked to be cuddled so much, i know it's not easy and i bet your exhausted but try different things even moving the baby's cot to a different place can help.

He's probably not tired if he's rolling over and playing. Maybe he's having too many naps... babies' sleep needs change as they grow up, and by six months some are only taking one or two naps during the daytime. if he has a late afternoon nap, he may not be ready to sleep again until 9.30pm. It doesn't matter... so long as he's getting enough sleep in total, then the actual time is irrelevant.
At six months most babies still go to sleep feeding (breast or bottle, held in mother's arms) and rocked gently until they fall asleep. You don't mention if you're doing that, but particularly if breastfeeding this is far the best thing for the baby as it will soothe him gently into a comfortable sleep.

Less naps in day or else don't put him to bed until 10 pm. He doesn't sound tired. You wouldn't want to go to bed if you weren't tired were you? Research shows babies fed on demand and not on a schedule and babies not put on schedules are smarter than the others. Like 8 points more on IQ tests. Just saying if you want less stress and a smarter kid just put him to bed later.
