Cardinal Mahoney to vote for Pope. Has the RCC no shame?

That is pretty disgusting. He's actively helped just about the most evil people you can find in society, and they're allowing him to keep a high-power role in the church!?! If hell is real, then Cardinal Mahoney has already reserved his VIP position in it, and the church is actually going to allow him to carry on his duties as though nothing was wrong? This is beyond insane, even for the Catholic church.

I find it almost impossible to consider that he had no idea about the entire thing.

I also find it almost impossible to think that nice old lovey-dovey, cuddly John Paul II did not know about it. Just because he was more charismatic than Ratzinger does not mean that he was less conservative. Between the two of them they have ensured that the next pope will be an ultra conservative too, by only appointing conservative cardinals.

While the lay church is being dragged by society to be more liberal the leadership is moving in the opposite direction.

i'm not a Cardinal, so i won't be able to vote for Popes. And besides, any Catholic guy may be elected Pope. It in order that happens that each and every of the modern Popes have been Cardinals, yet this isn't a call for.

The timing of this resignation does seem a bit odd... In order for all these Cardinals to vote they have to go to The Vatican in order to be sequestered in the Sistine Chapel for the vote... Vatican City is its own country.. Could this be a ploy to get the Cardinals out of reach of law enforcement around the world?

sure. the catholic church is not now and never has been godly. it does not follow scripture in it's beliefs or practices and has always been immoral.

that is not to say that there are not some catholic people who are good godly people and some who even read their bibles and try to live by them, but the church as an organization is not scriptural and is therefore not really christian.
