You need to look at the requirements for teacher certification in your state- look on the state Department of Education website. Typically, you major in Spanish and take a block of courses from the college of education. There will probably be a list of universities with approved programs leading to certification in Spanish on the Dept. of Ed website.

It really depends on where you go to school. At my alma mater I have a few friends who majored in Spanish and minored in Education. I also have a few friends who majored in Spanish and minored in something else but earned a certificate after they earned their Bachelor's degree in Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification and have become Spanish teachers.
