Get a new doctor, yours is an idiot. Six months is the absolute earliest you should even think about starting solids. Until 6 months your baby lacks the enzymes to digest anything but breast milk or formula. Also, when solids are just started until 1 solids are only for practice and the majority of baby's nutrition still will need to come from breast milk or formula. Just out of curiosity, did your idiot doctor tell you why she wanted you to start force feeding your baby things your child isn't physically able to digest yet?

My youngest has been eating solids since 2 months and digested them just fine! He needed the cereal because of acid reflux and was totally ready for fruit too! Every baby is different but 4 months is not too young for the baby to eat solid food!

Doctor's say any time between 4 and 6 months is okay once they start showing signs of being ready. if he watches you eat and seems interested in eating and if he can sit up (supported) then those are signs of being ready. definitely no reason to tell your doctor to F off :)

My son started at 4 months. One small 'meal' per day. His doctor said it was ok to, she didn't say he HAD to. Many doctors recommend starting at 6 months, but some say 4.

It's up to you. You certainly don't 'have' to start him now. You can wait.

It's not too early, but I don't think you should feed it to your baby everyday... formula or breastmilk should be good enough. We will start giving my baby food once she turns 6mos, part of baby lead weaning.

4mths is usually the time to start, I would just give the baby tastes of different foods to start with then when the baby is ready they will let you know, be careful not to give too many sweet tastes as they sometimes refuse savoury because they tend to love the puds more.

How long do you want to wait? I question your response to your doctor!!! 4 months is the usual recommended time.
