Spiritually speaking, am I the only woman out there who dislikes Valentine's Day?
I'm a very romantic person. But Valentine's Day strikes me as a contrived test. If you don't come up with all the proper romantic gestures (particularly the guys) you've failed and are in the doghouse forever.
I'd rather get flowers or a romantic card on an ordinary day as a surprise. To me, that's far more romantic.
What say you, R&S?
Congratulations on your anniversary, Fireball. But you're not celebrating Valentine's Day. You're celebrating the day you met. Either way, enjoy!
"Commercialization of Love" is the perfect definition, IMHO.

I doubt you are the only woman, I don't have a girlfriend but I wouldn't take her out tonight if I did, maybe that's why I'm single :P haha, but I completely agree choosing random days to surprise a loved one is allot more appropriate than an organised day that everyone should buy gifts for their lovers, the idea is truly ridiculous that human beings need an excuse to show their affection/love one day a year.

Spiritually speaking, Valentine's Day originated when a Christian was writing letters to other Christians to encourage them about God. Spiritually speaking, Valentine's Day evolved to be a day of romantic love instead of a day of spiritual love.

No, you're not. I know several women who dislike this "commercialization of love" day.
