First aid for a 2nd degree burn?

I have what I believe is a 2nd degree burn on my leg. I got it from a fire, lets just say i was being stupid and not paying attention to where I put my foot. Anyhow my pants caught fire and it burned my leg. The burn itself is about 2 1/2 inches long and about 2 inches wide. It blistered immediately but that blister broke without me doing anything to it. This happened on Monday. I have been cleaning it daily with wound cleaner and putting antibiotic ointment on it. I also put Bactine on the gaze pad, and then I wrap gaze around that. I have only been changing it once per day. My question to you is, what does a healthy healing burn wound look like. Mine seems to have some pink and then some kind of white in it. I don't know its hard to explain so I hope that makes sense to you. Also do you feel like I can continue caring for this wound at home, or should I see a doctor. Not really a huge fan of doctors with burns because when my oldest was just a little over a year he decided to grab the iron and when I rushed him to the hospital they were completely retarded about it. I ended up getting more information about how to care for his burn from a pharmacist then I did at the hospital.

The pink is good. The white is not. Be sure to irrigate the wound daily and apply your burn ointment or antibiotic ointment and a clean dressing daily.

Just clean it daily. A more specific cream for burns is Flamazine. Cover it with sterile gauze after applying the cream. Contact with air will prevent further pain. Pink is the sign new skin is coming.
