i say Right...normally if you are right handed you play right handed strumming.. and visa versa for left handed, depends which side of your brain is reactive to keep a beat.. maybe you would do well at finger picking style guitar ... perhaps take a creativity test like this one

maybe it will help you decide, some people are ambidextrous, i find it strange that i am right handed but i do complex scales with my left fret hand but it feels right,, strumming and picking is the most complex part of playing guitar anyway!!. you will need to practice everyday for 2-3 years to really develop this part of your brain (neuro science). success is repetition.. i am right handed but i exercise by writing my name over and over left handed.. and changing knife and fork while eating...just to improve my playing by freeing my mind of boundrys

    You didn't say whether you're right-handed or left-handed. If you are right-handed, play a right-handed guitar.

If you're left-handed, the best options are either to learn to play right-handed or buy a left-handed guitar. You can't just turn a guitar over (well, some folks do, but you won't be able to form chords using the normal fingerings, which will make it difficult to learn). You also can't just string a right-handed guitar backwards, because the guitar won't work right or play in tune without modification by a repairperson, which can end up costing quite a bit. Left-handed guitars usually cost a few bucks more than right-handed guitars and the selection is more limited.

Left handed piano players don't look for a piano with all the keys backward. Left handed trumpet players don't have a horn with the valves designed to be fingered with the left hand. The examples can continue on and on, but the point is that left handed people just learn to adapt to the instrument and they always do just fine. The problem with playing a guitar left handed is that all the chord charts have to be read as a mirror image (confusing), choice of instruments is limited (you can't just pick up a friend's guitar and play it because it will probably be strung wrong for you), and when trading in a left handed guitar for a better one, the store might not even want it. -- So learn on a normally strung guitar and you will be glad you did.

Unless your left hand is actually deformed, you should play a right handed guitar. This is the standard way to play guitar...and it doesn't matter if you're right or left handed. To successfully play guitar, BOTH hands will be doing equally complex work. Your weaker (or less coordinated) hand will take a little longer to train. It's like this for everybody. That's why we practice.

Left handed guitars are much harder to find and aren't available in all models. If you learn left handed, all the tab and instructional material will be either upside down or backwards for you. You won't be able to play other people's guitars. If you ever want to learn a different stringed instrument, you'll have a much harder time finding a left handed one. In many cases, you'd have to get them custom made. Violin, sitar, banjo, pedal steel guitar, etc.

Anybody can learn left or right handed....but there are just too many good reasons to learn the normal way.

Right handed unless there is a really good reason for playing left handed.

maximum acoustics must be performed the two way in case you restring them as a consequence...it fairly is awkward to do with some guitars, fantastically electric powered guitars, because of the fact of their shape and the quantity administration and pickup change...i could sell it and get a left-exceeded guitar. yet another subject in restringing the guitar could be installation the strings interior the nut. so in case you dont want to sell it or commerce it basically save enjoying fabulous- exceeded perchance you will get used to it.

It's up to you. The only real downside of playing lefty is that guitars are harder to find and may cost a little more.
