Cashing a check from CIBC at a different bank? 10 pts?
I have a check appointed to me, but it's from someone who uses CIBC. I use TD Canada Trust, and I'm not sure if they'd allow me to cash the check there.

Of course. Checks are just means of transferring money from one person to another, doesn't really matter what bank they use. In terms of cashing it on your end, you'd have to have the $ to cover the check should it bounce or an account that allows you to access funds recently deposited (e.g., my account allows me to deposit up to $1000 and access it immediately - anything else is held about 5 business days to ensure the check's good.)
