Is Ubuntu worth for PC?

I'm thinking of removing Win 7 and installing Ubuntu on my PC. But I haven't used till now. So som1 pls tell me is it good?

And also , Can it run smoothly with my Configuration : Intel Pentium Dual Core CPU @ 2.20 GHz ; 1 GB RAM ; 320 GB Hard Disk.

    As said, don't remove Windows 7. Install Linux on a a separate partition so you can still choose which OS to boot from. However, instead of Ubuntu, I would prefer using Linux Mint. It's a lot better than Ubuntu.

    And yes, Linux will run well on your setup. You might get better performance if you add another GB RAM though.

    Don't remove win7, just dualboot them. It's very simple with windows 8, should be very similar in windows 7.

    Your system SHOULD be fine, you might want to invest in another gigabyte of RAM.
