How do I change my '99 z24 chevy cavalier's alternator?

I cannot seem to get my alternator out. There is a hard plastic tube in the way. I can't get my hands down in there to get the electrical plug is or where the bolt and nut on that side is. Has anyone ever changed one on this type of vehicle? What did you have to do to get it off? I am at a loss right now, so frustrated.

It may be necessary to remove the tube or other components to access the alternator mounting bolts, I frequently find it necessary to completely unbolt and then rotate the alternator to access the wiring connections on many vehicles. Everything WILL come off, the question is always, HOW many OTHER things must come off FIRST!
