Poll to help with my philosophy paper?

Do you agree with Locke or Descartes?

Locke: We form our experiences and minds through sensations, both internally (thinking/reflecting) and externally (5 senses, touch, taste, etc.)

Descartes: Our senses deceive us in the formation of our mind. For example, a candle and a melted candle feel nothing alike, and if left to our senses alone, we wouldn't be able to figure out what happened. (I think, therefore I am, if you know what I mean.)

I think that the senses give a starting point, but the information they give must be interpreted by the mind. Without the senses, though, we would have no idea what anything is like, and existence would be vastly different.
