Yahoo Group Calendar keeps sending reminders with wrong time!?
One time (long, long ago), Yahoo Groups Calendars used to work fine and send reminders to our groups with the correct time in then. Starting a couple years ago Calendar reminders have often had the wrong time (even though the Group Calendar was set to the correct time zone set). Dear Yahoo, please fix these systemic bugs, they are embarrassing. We are on the verge of moving our groups to Google Groups and Google Calendar.
Example:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AYSO2jBoard/cal
Reminder from: AYSO2jBoard Yahoo! Group
Title: Area 2J Board Meeting
Date: Wednesday February 20, 2013
Time: 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm (GMT-06.00) Guadalajara / Mexico City / Monterrey - New

Hi,
This occurs most often because someone's group time zone and personal time zone are not set the same (Specifically, I see this occurring in your account at this time). If you allow members and moderators to modify events, it's possible that anyone modifying the calendar events (who doesn't have their time zones set correctly) could alter the reminders and times in events unintentionally.
Please make sure anyone who modifies your group's calendar has both time zone areas on their account set to the same time. Here are articles with steps to update time zones:

Group calendar:

Hope that helps!

My reminders for a 9:00 am meeting still come out 4:00 a.m. All members of my group are Eastern Time Zone, the time is correct on the calendar, but reminders come out wrong. Seems like this is a problem that has been going on for a long time. Can't you fix it? I think Google has a group option. Wonder if they have the same problem. Maybe it's good bye Yahoo.

This is just idiotic. I've used Yahoo Mail and Calendar for 20 years but am thinking of switching. Why would you let a situation fester where notifications are being sent out to remind people of important appointments with the wrong Time Zone? You've jumped the shark.

Worst Answer, this does not solve the problem. Instead of making excuses, it is quite obvious that Yahoo would rather make excuses than fix the problem by going back to the previous version of the Yahoo Group Calendar. Right now, there is a discussion in a Yahoo Group to which I belong about curtailing using it for posting monthly meetings. I would not be surprised if this is followed by ceasing using the Calendar for everything.

I think the links to the personal calendar in the Best Answer, and the link there to "change your personal Yahoo Calendar time zone" are correct. That shows where to do the change in your own calendar. Once I set my calendar from no time zone to my time zone, my group's DST events' times changed by an hour to the correct time. That really makes NO SENSE, and is clearly a bug. If I have no time setting, then events need to take the group's setting, not take (what exactly??) and change it by an hour only during daylight savings time. If the group calendar gets the time correct during standard time, it should also get the time correct during daylight savings time.

I'm switching to google docs. This is extremely embarrassing. Everytime I send an invite, lets say I set the time at 7:00am, it alerts people that the time the event starts is 2:00am. I send it to myself as well and it does the same thing. And I know I have the correct time zone. It's ridiculous

I have set my group to Arizona GMT/UTC and my computer is set to that. Yahoo takes the info I give it and deducts 7 hours and then sends out that time for all invites/notices. This is a YAHOO issue not a user issue.

I tried this but some of my events are still sending incorrect reminders. Did you have to update all your events?
For example this is supposed to be May 21st all day...
Title: Colin's Birthday
Date: Tuesday May 20, 2014
Time: 7:00 pm - 7:00 pm (GMT-05.00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
