When giving baby food to baby can?

Can I mix in a little formula to her peas or veggies once I start giving to her? Just so it's not so thick. My dr gave me all the info to when I start to feed her but I forgot to ask that. She said I can with rice but I'm going to skip that cuz it has no vitamins in it. So once I choose to start veggies can I add in some formula? Has anyone done that before?

Yes you can, but in all honesty if you have to thin down a pureed carrot then your baby isn't ready for solids. Best thing to do is boil some veg then add a little of the cooking water before pureeing it, as some of the vitamins are lost into the water during boiling.

I totally agree with you on the baby rice front btw!

Baby boxed white rice cereal has no nutritional value, all the vitamins are synthetic factory added crap that most babies cannot digest. Good for skipping that heavily processed white starch I don't eat those starches myself as they are not good for you, so why feed that garbage to baby?

As for purees, really if baby cannot handle what is in the jar baby is not ready. If they push food out try again in a week. I started with veggies and fruits. Peas are pretty yucky in those jars.

here are some great first food tips, and even if you do want to serve rice how to make your own brown rice cereal with NATURAL nutrients.

And some babies re perfectly fine with fork mashed soft fruits and veggies. I never bothered with jar food, I just fork mashed to start. And by 7 months they were feeding themselves larger finger food size pieces of soft foods.

Rice cereal does give your baby iron. So you could make some rice cereal with formula and then add some baby food to it! Or just feed your baby some veggies and then give him/her a small bottle of formula.

Baby rice gives your baby iron. Its very important because they will have a low blood count if they don't get iron. You can mix the rice with the food. I did that with my baby.

U can but the consistancy is purposeful. This is how they learn to eat, swallow, & NOT choke on the food. They need to learn to for solid foods yet to come
