  • Any advice for a frustrated mother trying to potty train?

I have a daughter and she just turned FOUR. She is not potty trained yet and I am frustrated beyond frustrated!! She will use the toilet if I put her on it, but any other time that I ask, she will tell me "not yet."

I tried when she was two, she obviously wasn't ready, so I stopped. When she turned 3, I tried again, so I stopped. I waited til she was about 3 1/2 and nope!! She ended up in daycare and I asked them if they could help me. They said 'yes', but she has to be in a Pull Up.

My issue is, I feel like she's so comfortable in a Pull Up that she'll just go. I HATE HATE HATE them!!!

I'm wasting money on something that I really don't have money to buy, and I feel like I should cut her cold turkey from them.

I even took her out of her daycare because I'm spending money on something that won't help me potty train her.

    What I'm doing now:

*I try to have her in underwear throughout the day

*Pull Ups are only for car rides or long trips

*I ask her every 15-20 mins or so if she has to go

This is really hard because it's up to her father in the day usually, because I work. He's basically a stay at home dad that works part time. Sometimes he 'forgets' or 'lost track of time'. It's hard for me to take time off of work. I was thinking of getting a potty watch for her because sometimes I feel like she is distracted and just goes, even in her underwear. Please HELP!! Before I tear my hair out!! /:

I have the app for my android device and a week ago they launched where you could add friends.

Well, I have my account through Origin, but every time I try to approve a request or try to add someone it basically results in an error. Does anyone know why??

You could also try to add me and see what happens.

  • Will my car pass smog in CA if...? And repair advice?

So my cars check engine light is on and I need it to pass smog in about 3 weeks. I don't know ill have the money for repairs by then.

I have a code reader that can delete the codes, if I delete the codes from my car will it pass smog?? My car is a 98 Volvo. I ran the code reader and the codes are p0442 and p0108. I also live in CA, I don't know if that will matter or not.

Also!! I had another code which was for a faulty MAF sensor, o2sensor, leak, etc. I forget the code, but I cleaned the MAF sensor and that code went away. Then a few other codes came on, like a code for the coolant, and the 108 code. The 442 code has been on the whole time. I took it to the mechanic to get my car diagnosed and they said that the 108 code was on and they said I probably will need to replace the MAF sensor.

I erased those codes and then the 108 code came back. And today I ran the code reader and the 442 code was back along with the 108.

    Thanks for reading!!

  • My 17 month old is so dependent on her bottle for sleep?

Help!!! I want to just toss my 17 month olds bottle away so desperately!! But at the same time I don't because she's dependent on it to get to sleep for naps and bedtime.

I live in a house with others and the last time I tried getting her to sleep without it she would scream and cry and everyone would get mad and come pounding on the door until she stopped crying. She takes a sippy cup fine during the day but when it comes to sleep she will refuse to go without the bottle.

I've also tried giving her milk in a sippy cup for her naptime too. But she won't sleep unless she has it.

What should I do?? I am leaning towards just tossing it. What have you guys done to wean??

    Thanks for your help/advice!!

  • Forgotten speeding ticket in CA?

I received a speeding ticket in San Francisco, CA in September 2011. I completely forgot about the ticket because it was around my daughters birthday. And i have a bunch of other things to worry about as well.

Anyway!! I received a letter that my license will be suspended soon because I never appeared in court. I don't want/need my license to be suspended.

The people at the courthouse did tell me it wasn't possible to set a court date, but is there any possible way to speak with a judge about making payments?

  • Pumping at work in California?

So, I was just reading into California's laws about nursing or pumping at work. I was confused about one thing. "An employer is not required to provide unpaid break time if to do so would seriously disrupt the operations." What does this mean?

And what if there is no place to provide any privacy?

I work at Starbucks and there is no "extra office" in our back room. And I've been pumping back there and there's always people walking back and forth to grab cups and other things. I just feel extremely uneasy pumping there. Any advice? Thanks!

  • Shadows in my dreams?

I've had these dreams before, where there's shadows and they're trying to haunt me. It never really bothered me until now. Last night I dreamt that there were hundreds of shadows but they were out to get me. Its kinda like when you run into a flock of seagulls and they scatter, that's how the shadows were moving. They were like blobs. It was really scary and my heart was racing in my sleep. All of a sudden they all went into my bag/purse and i was fine.

What could this mean? Has anyone had similar dreams? None of these have really bothered me until now. I just need an answer that could help me out. I'm freaking out!! Thanks!

  • Arm numbness and breastfeeding?

Recently my arm has started to feel numb and tingly. I Googled why it could be and in the suggestions it said 'arm numbness and breastfeeding'. So I'm wondering if that could be why? Has anyone experienced this?

It just feels like I'm life song control of my left arm and it wants to 'drop dead'. Today I found a bruise on it. I woke up in the middle of the night one night and it was like a noodle and i had absolutely no control over it. Sometimes if i sit up it goes away but I feel like i can never lie down without it feeling numb. Help!? Thanks!

  • My MacBook isn't charging anymore?

I've had my MacBook Pro for a little less than 3 years now and it runs completely normal. Recently it hasn't seemed to be charging. I plugged the charger in, and it says "not charging" where it normally says "charging". It seems to charge a little bit over a long period of time because the battery percentage went from 30% to 40% within an hour. The light on the charger is also a very dim light green.

I've tried different outlets, and I've also tried switching the extension cord, which I normally use, with the shorter cord. I have also tried to turn my computer off and back on. It still says the same thing. I'm definitely out of the warranty as well.

I'm not much of a computer person and I need a quick fix!! Has anyone had the same problem before? What did you do to fix it? Anything helps! Thanks!

  • What would be a good schedule for my 6 month old?

I really have no set schedule and I'm totally lost on solid foods. I am a first time mother and I breast feed. She usually wakes around 7 to 8 am. She doesn't eat right away. I also have been having a tough time trying to get her to sleep by herself and also nap by herself without having to nurse her to sleep, which my lactation consultant said was fine. I have to be in bed by 8 or 9 some nights because I have to be to work by 4:30am. I don't know how much solid food to give her. I have only been giving her solids in the evening, but I'm not sure that's right. I do have an appointment with her doctor next week, but I feel like I'm starving her, although I know she's fine. I'm just freaking out.

  • Is this advanced for my 6 month old?

My baby has had strong legs since she could pretty much hold her head up by herself (about 2 months). She has been able to support herself with her legs if I held her. Now, she can stand all by herself with the support of a table or chair for a couple of minutes. Is this normal for her age? Or something babies do at a later age? This is my 1st baby so I have no idea. Thanks!

  • Is letting your baby cry good when...?

My baby has bad anxiety when i leave her alone. She has to be held by me for her to stop and she has to look at me. Has anyone ever had to go through this? And is it good to just leave her alone to cry? I know letting a baby cry will make her have insecurity issues later on in life, or am I wrong on that? No idea. I just know that I can't set her down for one second because she'll start crying. What could I do?

  • Why wont my baby sleep?

I feel like she's fed enough and her cries also sound like she's exhausted. I have been trying to put her to sleep around 8 or 9 for the past 2 and a half weeks. She never cries from a wet diaper. We try playing relaxing sounds and give her her pacifier. I'm just really exhausted and haven't had much sleep in those 2 weeks. She's almost 6 months and also has her 2 bottom teeth about to come in. Some nights I had given her infant tylenol. It seemed to help, but I don't want to give it to her because I'm not 100% sure that she's in pain(from teething ). I used to have such a set schedule for her but now its all over the place with her crying like this. Some nights i have to nurse her to sleep and I'm pretty sure she's just sucking for comfort. Some nights when I put her down to sleep she acts as if she just wants to play and have fun. I really want to try the cry it out method but I'm not 100% about it. I just don't know what to do anymore.

  • Was it wrong for my boss to do this?

So a coworker was ranting to me today about how her son was really wanting to meet our manager. The boy is only 5. My coworker brought him to work and walked into the back room with him and goes up to my manager.

My manager didn't even look at her and said with attitude,"You know your not allowed to bring 'them' back here." And didn't even acknowledge the kid at all. I mean, I feel like she could have at least said it nicer. I feel like my coworker should report her. This lady (my manager) can be nice at some times and the other she can be a complete total ***** and mean it.

What do you think? Also the fact that she pretty much called the boy 'it'? I feel like she's discriminating against children, but at the same time, I have a 5 month old that I brought into the back room before and she didn't say crap about my baby being back there. I feel very offended and it wasnt even my child that she was talking about. I also feel like it could be because my coworker is a darker skin color. I don't know.

  • Why does my baby not like to feed in public?

It seems every time i go out, and don't bring a bottle, she doesn't want to breast feed in public. She fusses even more and ends up crying instead of feeding. Its extremely frustrating and I also hate having everyone stare at me and my crying baby. Sometimes I stop and try to walk her around or try to talk or sing to her. Those work to calm her down, but when i feed her again the same thing happens again.

  • How do I get my teething baby to fall asleep!?!?

I'm very tired and I feel like I've tried everything. I tried feeding her, rocking her, patting her back, rubbing/massaging her gums, giving her teething gel, trying the have her chew on her teething ring. None of them worked. She's 5 months and it looks like the tooth (bottom) could pop out any day or week now. Any suggestions? Please and thank you!!
