UPS taking things out of the mail?

A few years ago I sent a very tiny necklace in a christmas card to my friend. UPS took it out of the envelope and sent the card along so she didn't get it. The other day, I sent my boyfriend a small band pin. He received it with a rip on the side of the envelope and no pin. My friend sent me a cloth patch (made out of a 4 inch piece of t shirt material) and I didn't get it in the mail at all.

Any explanation?

Are you using padded envelopes for these shipments? If not, it is quite possible that the uneven texture of the envelope (caused by the necklace, pin, or patch) caused the envelope to be snagged or torn on a piece of sorting equipment and the item was separated from the envelope. However, feel free to speak with your local Post Office to ensure that the items are being properly mailed.

You mean the post office, right? Of course there is an explanation the items ripped through the envelopes during transit. The closth I don't know but you are barking up the wrong tree at the fault.

Are you sure it's UPS? Sometimes there are people who go through other people's mails because UPS has delivered many packages to me and I get everything in the box. Try FedEx lol or keep a good eye on your mail that's what I do so nobody takes anything or touches it.

They can't watch over every package. Stuff is going to get stolen. Put insurance on anything valuable. And/Or send it through the US postal service, it's less likely to be messed with, because it's a federal offense.

Complain to your local UPS about it.
