Why do some people not believe in God?

While I agree with many of the principles pushed forth by religion, the one thing I do not believe in is one almighty God, or gods.

Your understanding of evolution is flawed. It is not as though a species would go extinct, simply because one branch of the species mutated into a new species.

The world did not come from nothing--it came from the big bang.

And there is also a great body of evidence supporting both evolution and the big bang.

It's not simply that our bodies look similar--it's that we share DNA with some monkeys.

The way I see it, God is a white lie used to promote honest behavior.

The concept of God or gods is a device used to provide an example of perfect morality.

This doesn't mean it's wrong to believe--everyone has rational and irrational beliefs, regardless of religion.

Many people trust in evolution and the big bang without having read a single study.

Wrong Evolution is proven. Evolution = an organism changing and adapting to survive even the most uneducated christian knows this. Thus they know evolution is fact.

The big bang theory is a theory but not 100% proven you are correct although we have alot of evidence that suggests it

Apes did not become humans because we didn't evolve from apes we are cousins!. We evolved from a common ancestor not and went on different paths caused by our gene's , the enviroment we live in and multiple other factors.

I am sorry to see that your education has been so poor, Did they not teach science at your school? Only creationists claim that the world came from nothing and ask why there are still monkeys. No scientist, theist or atheist, has ever made such a claim.

A lack of belief in gods has nothing at all to do with science. Whether the Big Bang and evolution happened or not is completely irrelevant. I do not believe in gods because there is no more evidence for any of them than there is for Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. One can disbelieve in Santa Claus without bringing science into it and it is the same with gods.

Actually there is substatial evidence for evolution and bug bang, also your understanding of evolution is slim to none. There is no evidence whatsoever for a deity to exist

That may be true, but they are backed up by mountains of evidence, which is mountains more evidence than can be found for the existence of god. If god exists, why does it stay hidden?
