Do I need to change my Spark Plugs? UK?

I've got a 2003 1.4l Ford Fiesta Finesse 16V Semi-Auto, which I bought when there was 33,000 miles on the clock, since I've had it, I've got up to 39,500 miles. Now, the Haynes manual advises a spark plug change every 37,500 miles (or 3 years). Would it be fair to assume that they've never been changed? Even if they have, would it be worth changing them anyway?

Thanks for any responses

Can't speak for the UK vehicles but here in the States spark plugs are good for a minimum of 100k on most vehicles. All manufacturers have been using platinum or double platinum plugs since the early 90s, their expected life is easily 100k.

Yeah change them before hand, also changing the plugs costs about $8 and takes all of 20 min. You might as well do it. Just don't overtighten them.

You would have to pull one and see if it needs changed. They can last forever.

The only bad part is if the ones you have have clogged up or the tips are breaking then you should change them.
