To survive in the field it needs to be rugged, impervious to contaminants, and simple to operate, maintain and repair with virtually no tools, special parts, or skills. I thought it was bizarre that these devices were being used for educational purposes. This is an absolute, and almost criminal waste of this technology. The people need water more than the nuns need lab equipment, for crying out loud. Make that stop.
