What is the major difference in the food habits of South and North India ?

    North -

    1. Use wheat more.

    2. Use mustard oil and ground nut oil more.

    3. Traditional dishes have aamchur powder (mango powder), garam masala and chat masala as ingredient.

    4. Spicy but not so hot.

    5. Eat sweets more.

    South -

    1. Use rice more.

    2. Use gingelly oil and sunflower oil more.

    3. Traditional dishes have coriander powder, asafoedita and chilly powder.

    4. Spicy and hot.

    5. Eat sweets but not as North.

    Majority of wheat food items in north and Majority of rice food items in south

    The curries in the North are less hot than those in the South.

    Wheat and Tea and Sweets.

    Rice and Coffee and spicy hot tiffins.

    North Indians normally use both hands for eating especially chappathi and such other things, which South Indians will not do.

    South Indians use one hand for eating and other hand for drinking water.
