I have questions about judo/martial arts in general. Help?
Hi. I'm interested in learning judo, but first I have a few questions:
is it too late to learn judo in mid 20s?
Does judo training session involve a lot of weight training/muscle building?
I'm overweight and lacking flexibility, I can't do forward/back roll during school PE, felt like I'm about to break my neck. Can I still learn judo?
Like I said I'm obese, should I lose weight first, gain shape before I start learning judo?
I'm doing daily cardio (walk 4-5km a day, and diet) for the past 2 weeks, I'm feeling a lot better. I'm trying to find a new hobby to help me committed to this new healthier lifestyle.

Listen man, it doesn't matter what your age is. You could be 70, just go for it! And I'm sorry you're over weight, but the best advice that I can think of is to just throw yourself in there. Get dirty. Don't tell yourself that you have to weigh so many pounds, etc. If you are interested in Judo then go for it! If you are out of shape then yes, YOU WILL SUCK....at first, but stick with it. Your teacher will guide you and eventually, if you stick with it, you will get better and better. Quitters are losers. Winners are the ones that don't give up. It doesn't matter where you came from. It matters where you end up. And if you want to lose wight then do a lot of cardio.

Judo is an excellent sport and most of the physical exercise will be in the form of the various disciplines in the class rather than weight training. You will find the "randori" or free sparring to be quite exerting.
If you're out of shape, a good teacher will take this into consideration and allow you to progress at your own speed.
Have no fears about starting in your mid-20s. You may not become an olympic champion but it sounds like that isn't what you're looking for at any rate.
