WHAT,MY ELECTRICAL OUTLETS ARE UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!! How would I install one that is horizontal?

    As mentioned in the article you linked, there presently is no code requiring grounding tab up. I have heard that it may be coming down the pike at some point. I suppose I would wire a horizontal outlet with the neutral side up for the same reason stated in the linked article. (i.e. preventing an accidental contact with the hot.)

    Oh - how interesting. I assumed there was a code about the ground being up or down.... but according to this there is no code. Personally I wire them hot on the right - ground down.

    In rough use areas, its better to install ground plug up. Its usually easier on the plug when it gets pulled on or yanked out.
