My computer doesn't realize that there is wireless?

This morning, my computer said there was a mistake, and I restored it to yesterday. And since then, it hasn't been able to even look for wireless internet.

It shows the logo for cable-connected internet (which is not available either), and if I choose "connect to a network" that's all it looks for too.

When I say trouble shoot, it just says that, surprise surprise, there is no cable.

If I chose "set up a new connection" it also only suggests broadband.

When I go to "Manage Wireless Networks" it says 'Wireless in not currently enabled' , and shows me no options to enable it, or manage any networks (and I'm at my parents house, and they have 2 wireless networks in the house + I can see plenty other from my moms computer, which I am writing from now)

When I go to Network Connections to try to enable wireless, it only shows me cable-internet.

What to do? It seems my computer has completely forgotten that there is such thing as wirelss!

Update:

@ ? I think you may be on to something! On my F12 key, there is also a little wireless logo with a little light, which is red at the moment - I can't remember if it was always red, but it may not have been... How do I turn it on then? Sorry, I'm not very compuer wizzy! :b

Update 2:

@Jamie - I'm looking at my device manager now, but I don't get a whole lot of info from it... There is one called Network adapters, and I told it to scan for hardware changes, and it didn't come back to me with anything, and I went to look at the porportions, and it didn't tell me anything but it's name..

The driver is missing. This happened to me before. Just do a system restore. There should be a checkpoint when the driver was uninstalled. Just click on that then restore it. It will take hours but the driver will be back.

Check your drivers in device manager. You may be missing or a have a corrupt network driver. You can re-download any driver from the manufacturers website.

It may also be that you network card is bad and needs to be replaced.

Make sure the wireless card toggle switch on your keyboard or computer case is set to on.
