Do you think evolution is a proven scientific fact as so many seem to feel ?

You have to think about this..If it were true,it would have to be duplicated and observed.A question begs to be answered, If it WERE true why are other religions still being practiced? The religion of evolution would make ourselves GOD and would have no need of a belief in a higher being,,And yes it IS a religious cult..

Update:

@phiilyguy It has not been duplicated or observed. Adaptation is not the same though species adapt ,their genetic code remains true. The "junk" DNA that we humans have ,has been proven to be useful and mandatory for life..again, not a proven fact., but a belief..next ?

Update 2:

@whoknew I did not state that science has a god., I stated evolution is a cult. You state something about spit and dirt but, defend a pool of ooze. You "believe" it has been proven..what is that but faith, which is a sign of religious belief..not of fact..next

Kerkut defined the General Theory of Evolution as "all the living forms in the world have arisen from a single source which itself came from an inorganic form." In common terms this comprises abiogenesis, micro-evolution, and macro-evolution. Of these micro-evolution including speciation has been verified by observation and experiment. The others have little supporting evidence and the facts can be better explained by Creation.

A theory is not a fact, (one reason it is called theory and not fact) and interestingly there has been no noticeable "evolution" in the 5,000 years of recorded human history.

Now I do believe there is pretty strong evidence of evolution with the knowledge and abilities of today, even though the "missing link" is still missing, but in that same context many felt the same about the world being flat and the earth was the center of the universe based on the facts of the day and according their knowledge and abilities. So who knows what the future will "prove".

It is a theory backed up by evidence and observation, not a religion. Natural selection is a process we see ongoing within the animal kingdom, and the fossil record shows dramatic yet linear changes over millions of years. Genetics shows that related animals had distant relatives before being split off into separate species. Attempting to understand the origin of species makes us gods no more than understanding the origin and nature of electricity (lightning was traditionally considered the province of God(s)).

All creationism has as a scientific theory is weak attempts to poke holes in evolution; a little preposterous to hold evolution to an unrealistic standard of certainty while maintaining that creationism needs no evidence to be a valid "theory".

Science does not have a god/religion, it has research, scientific theory and sometimes a conclusion. Science is not a religion, think Algebra or Aeronautics, both are scientific but neither is a religion. Why single out evolution to be a religion? No one worships it.

I believe evolution has been proven.

Anyone who examines and compare the FACTUAL proofs against religious dogma will have to admit life evolved and (in the case of Christianity) did not happen in 7 days beginning with dirt and spit.

It defies logic to believe religious fantasy but I understand the fear of confronting it because once I was afraid too.

    -------

A 'religious cult' without a god? Look I don't argue with semantics or children because I get annoyed and it is no longer fun. You will not change your mind neither would I. You keep your fantasy and I will keep my reality, goodbye.

As far as the scientific community is concerned, the theories of evolution and climate change are just as universally accepted as the theory of gravity.

anyone with even an introductory level college credit in biology knows that evolution is as close to a proven fact as the theory of gravity.

Your question makes no sense. Scientists consider evolution to be a proven fact.

No, it is a scientific theory that is currently the leading scientific explanation for species diversification.

Its still a theory that no one has evidence of otherwise to disprove it so far
