Need help picking out a computer(s) for college?
I need a new computer(s) for when I go off to college next year. Here is what I have decided I might want. Anything that says all-in-one I would accept getting any all-in-one including a iMac and I would accept getting a traditional desktop.
-Macbook Air and a iMac
-Macbook Pro 13" and a iMac
-Chromebook and a All-in-One
-Any windows 8 Ultrabook and a All-in-One
Or
-Fully upgraded MacBook Pro 15" with retina.
Now I am going to be doing anything from schoolwork and browsing the web to Editing YouTube videos and Playing games.

You seem to have a lot of money to throw in to this, you can get cheap laptops with good specs if you shop around!
I wouldn't recommend a Chromebook, perhaps the Macbook Pro/Air or an Ultrabook from Acer depending of what you want.
Go for something with:
An i3/5/7 processor
Acceptable battery life
Nvidia graphics
6GB+ Ram
As much HDD as you need, but hard drive space isn't everything! I find extenals ones a great investment for backing-up anyway.
Oh and the usual if you want it (microphone & webcam built in and maybe bluetooth connectivity)
Don't pay for what you don't want, and shop around many places!

If it was me, I'd build a desktop (or get a barebones) and put Linux on it, plus get a Chromebook to carry around. That would be cheaper (under $500) than getting one Mac. But that's me, maybe you don't want to play Steam games on Linux. I do all my video editing on a cheap laptop with LinuxMint, with no virus worries.

whilst i began college I had a workstation. i got here across that it became a extensive distraction, and so i began letting my bf use it for his training instead so i might desire to concentration in college, then HE got here across it to be a extensive distraction as nicely!! to not point out that it became variety of sluggish even nonetheless I paid a great variety of funds for it. So, I bought it to my dad and acquired this extraordinary dell laptop with all sorts of loopy useful factors, and that's somewhat speedy and does each and every thing i might desire to do, for greater inexpensive than my crappy workstation became!! I have been given my dell and all of the flaws to flow with it for greater or less $1300 i think of whilst my workstation became like $2000 plus and it wasn't even that super. I kno a pair those with laptops and that they play video games on it in college and it relatively is a extensive distraction for them. So, i individually propose a computer b/c you may get greater useful factors for much less $$$ plus you have not got that significant distraction in case you're attempting to take heed to three uninteresting lecture
