Why can't I use 'net send' command on Windows 7?

I have Windows 7 on all 3 of my home PC's and am trying to find a way to send LAN messages. When I use the net send command in command prompt it is telling me the syntax for net and send is not one of the options listed. Can anyone help?

Net send and msg commands usually are not supported in home windows 7 common models. You ought to use third party lan messaging sotware. It supports most general home windows OS like XP, Vista, 7,eight.

Net send doesn't exist in Windows 7, it is XP command.

    Windows 7 supports msg.exe.

It's just in the Ultimate and Enterprise editions.

All other editions will have to use a third party solution.
