USMC: Golf Co symbol same as Freemasons?
The first time I saw the symbol around the base, I thought it was for Freemasons. Instead, I learned it was the symbol for Golf Co. Why are they the same symbol? I tried doing a Google search but came up with nothing.
I have only seen the Freemason symbol for Golf Co, and it was around Lejeune. I have also seen it sold in Marine Corps items catalogs.

I have to assume you mean the square and compass, which is traditionally the most well known symbol of Freemasonry. However it's not a copyrighted symbol or trademarked etc. Anyone can use the symbol and some do. It's a lot less common these days but back in the 19th and 20th centuries, the symbol was used quite often by groups that were not connected to Freemasonry.
The symbol is a common example of some of the builders tools so sometimes tradesmen and those trades that would make use of such tools can associate with their use.
In the US Military there is a long tradition of Masonic Military Lodges. They existed in the camps of the revolutionary war, G. Washington even encouraging them.
They had a Masonic Lodge in Tun tavern, an you know what significance that holds to the USMC.
There is nothing mysterious or nefarious here, just old traditions.

I don't know why you're posting this question a second time, you're going to get the exact same answer:
I don't know what symbol you're talking about.
The only "Masonic symbol" is the Square & Compasses. In the United States it usually has a 'G' in the center, in most other countries it usually does not. That's the only truly Masonic symbol. There are other symbols that Freemasons may sometimes use (like the All Seeing Eye, for example), but none of them were created by Freemasons and they were always used by other groups and individuals that aren't affiliated with Freemasonry. In fact, even the Square & Compasses can be used by anybody, it's not copyrighted or trademarked so Freemasons have no control over who chooses to use it.
That's all I can tell you without seeing the particular symbol you're referring to. But if it looks like a Masonic symbol to you, chances are it's just a coincidence.

Each group or unit is free to establish their own symbol or mascot, based on the unit's history and traditions. You might ask one of the people who wear that symbol.
The "masonic symbol" of the square and compass is quite common among engineering units in all branches of the military service AND in civilian use and does not necessarily indicate any connection to the Freemasons, Masonic lodge or Shriners.

What symbol? Can't you at least enclose a picture?
Based upon what you enclose - which is nothing - I tell you there is absolutely no connection whatsoever between Freemasonry and your thing.
