How can I extract my video from my Sony DCR-DVD200 camcorder to digital format (such as MPEG or AVI)?

When I first purchased this camcorder, it was bundled with Pixela ImageMixer. But now, ImageMixer won't work with Windows 7.

I've also tried Cyblerlink Powerdirector, to extract the VOB files but it won't extract all the content (just bits of it). Example : After I finalize a DVD (in the camcorder), then put the disc into the computer, it sees 2 VOB files. 1 VOB file will play 5 minutes worth of video. The 2nd VOB file won't play anything. But if I play it (either on my PC or in a standard DVD player), it'll work. So the VOB files are fine. It's being eble to extract them (for editing purposes) that's the problem.

So which software will extract my VOB files properly???

If you have a mini dvd camcorder

    .

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded http://www.squared5.com/ http://www.handbrake.fr/ file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Usually you would import your videos and drop them in to the timeline, add transitions, menus, music, etc. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.
