How come Republicans are always asking the middle class and poor to sacrifice, but not the rich?

This is starting to seem like a broken record.. Republicans: "Pass the Ryan budget to cut medicare or we will force a default", "Cut food stamps or we won't raise the debt ceiling", "cut 750,000 American jobs through a sequester or we won't pass Obama's tax cuts for the middle class"

Why? Because you are played for a fool in the way issues are painted and spoon-fed to you. The rich, making $400 thousand or more, got socked with an income tax increase. The "rich" in general also got zinged, right along with everyone else with the elimination of the payroll tax holiday.

You are played for a fool if you think Republican holding up debt ceiling increases would result in default. This, when Republicans have been the ONLY adults in the room to say, "Gee, passing a budget....FOR THE COUNTRY.... is important." What does this say about you if it has been OK not to have a budget for the country since the last Bush budget in FY2009?!

You rely on emotional characterizations with your thinking Republicans are attacking food stamps in order to force fiscal responsibility, for once, on this Administration. An Administration that actually knew how to make an economy recover, would be the BEST gift to those having to live on food stamps. All this one knows how to do is create a welfare state that is becoming more and more dependent on government, for things like food stamps.

You twist the sequester into thinking Republicans ARE asking for "750,000" jobs to be cut. How INCOMPETENT is government or so addicted to spending is government, when told to cut 2% in government spending, which STILL is increasing (just at a slower rate), has to shed a so-called "750,000" jobs? Government is being told to "cut" the amount it spends in LESS than NINE DAYS (10+ billion per day)! Arguably, the most pain would be felt by civilian employees of or supporting defense projects, the section of government Republicans didn't not want to see cuts coming from.

OBAMA'S tax cuts for the middle class? Another way you get played. It's a moot point now since those cuts are now permanent, but Obama just crossed Bush's name out and penciled his in. He didn't even have to do any tax cutting. All the heavy lifting was already done for him, by Bush in 2003.

Do you know any facts? Here are some government ones from the CBO:

Please explain Liberal math to me about the rich - is it possible?

In a recent report released by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) the top 20% of tax payers in the United States are now paying 94% of the "total tax collected", up from 86% in 2007 and 81% in 2001.

As you know, the bottom 50% pay nothing .. so the "middle class is paying 6%.

[Note .. actually the bottom 50% are negative because of welfare and food stamps]

And you want more from the rich?

    Income categories:

    Top 1% – $365k

    Top 5% – $174k

    Top 20% – $97k

    Top 40% – $60k

    Top 50% – $48k

    Lowest 20% – $20k

So $48K-$97K middle class pays 6%. And the middle class and bottom class is suffering?

Do you realize that everything the government has, and everything the people have all comes from the rich?

It for sure doesn't come from the poor.

    The rich feed us all.

    Case closed.

I have not asked anyone to sacrifice. I think you morons should get off the couch and get a job. This is different, except, perhaps, in the mind of a liberal.
