Has the look of your BT Yahoo Mail page changed today?

I have been logging in and out of my Mail page with BT Yahoo this afternoon and it has suddenly changed in appearance. I don't think I have touched any of the options, but I want it back how it usually is. Basically the left hand panel was more compressed so I could see all of my mail folders, and the top tabs have changed to purple. The toolbar has different options on it and there is now an advert down the right hand side that wasn't there before - anyone else had this in the last few hours?

    ****Message to BT management****

As usual I am amazed at the lost marketing opportunity for BT and Yahoo. Though the upgrade certainly contains some improvements, we are all creatures of habit, so do not like change.

Why do BT/Yahoo not tell us IN ADVANCE of changes they will make and explain about these in advance. Communication with customers is important, and this is what BT are about - or so they keep telling us!

This would ease the shock of the change and customers might feel BT cared about them!

28 Feb. Happened to me this afternoon.. Why no notice about such changes - much prefer what I had until a few minutes ago! Opened the Help section from Settings icon on the top right and there is a section called New Features - open this and you get info. on BT Yahoo! Whatsnew.... Is this what has appeared this afternoon?? Don't think it will change back if they can't be bothered to inform us they are going to make such sweeping changes?!!

I hate it too and also want to be able to reverse it! It's not user-friendly, there are things I used to be able to do that I can't do anymore, and when I click on an email that is near the bottom of a page it doesn't open until I click it again although this doesn't happen if I click on one near the top!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! It reminds me of my old Gmail account which I hated too and stopped using. It looks so basic I was convinced I had somehow clicked a button and gone back to a previous version but obviously not. My friend hates hers too. To not even be told that it was going to change - or better still be asked whether we thought any improvements were necessary - is the ultimate in poor customer service.

Mine's changed on both accounts and at first I thought I had clicked on something inadvertently. But no, typically Yahoo has just decided to change from a well established easy to use system to something different, but looks, to me at least like a move backwards to a Classic type mail...appalling and without any consultation - at least it prompted me to do a full scan. See the post I put up earlier and the answers to this at http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Au...

At least we're not alone, and it's not a virus. Hopefully someone will come up with a way back to the old version, but I dare say we'll get used to it - but grrrr BT Yahoo nevertheless!

Yes mine has changed too and when I look into the account it says I am on Basic mail, whereas before I was on the one that gives you news headlines etc (Premium?) When I try to upgrade to premium mail it tells me "we are having trouble interpreting what you've just typed, perhaps because of the time delay between pages" or something similar to that.

Just found out Yahoo has "updated" the application to make it "simpler" and more "user-friendly" - they've also "retired" the What's New section. Would have been sensible to let people know about this before they did it and wasted everyone's time.

28th February - yes the look has changed this afternoon, its now purple and has a different font. Why did BT Yahoo need to change it again. I don't think it will change back, this is the new look whether we like it or not

    yes, it's all changed again....sigh

what a bunch of yahoos - no courtesy!

it's not as if it's an specially brilliant platform either, given we (or is it only me!) pay for it! even though it is only £1.50 per month. i guess im probably the same as everyone else in that i only keep it going because i had the free address for so long i really dont want the hassle of changing it. although, since finding myself the unexpected recipient of viagra spam last year, i have thought about changing to gmail at some point.

    Me too

Suddenly I can't compose mail or reply to mail on my macbook version 10.5.8

There's no way that I want to update my computer to access my emails, I can still send them on my ipad but that's not the point. There was nothing wrong with my macbook until bt decided to update their email domain with absolutely no warning. I run my business through their email domain, I am perfectly happy with my macbook, suddenly I want to to tell BT to sling their hook. What a hassle. LISTEN BT... sort it out or lose a lot of previously happy customers!!!

    Mine too

I have just been on the phone to BT Yahoo in India about this and they are flooded with calls from UK customers complaining about this change.

Its badly designed, unwieldy and not user friendly

How dare they do this without even asking their customers.

    Impolite and discourteous

We pay their salaries and keep them in profit so we should be asked if we would like it or not.

    Rather dictatorial in my opinion.
