Don't you guys just want a budget?

Seriously. All of us...

We just want a budget.

Isn't it in the constitution that we are supposed to have one?!

Don't bother playing the blame game.

No matter who you blame it doesn't change the fact that there isn't one in place.

How about we all rally and scream at the government to agree on one?

... Probably not because we can't stop blaming each side.

Why bother with the blame game? They're all in the wrong.

Update:

Worry about myself instead of everyone else?

Nice American attitude you've got going on there.

Very caring.

Update 2:

You see?

They haven't been writing one each year.

That's the issue.

There is no budget.

What you're saying is just playing with semantics.

Actually, There is no mention in the constitution of the requirements for a budget. In fact our requirement for a budget and the methoed for doing so is put into place by the "Budget and Accounting Act of 1921" and "Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974" as well as other minor budget legislation.

Furthermore, we've technically had budgets this entire time, in fact the government can't technically pay its bills without one. Before anyone starts to point out the countless stories of non-budget passing quotes from congressional representative allow me to explain.

First and foremost a budget is the standard process for apportioning spending and continuing spending. Typically in the past and what is currently being reffered to as a "Budget" is the year long appropriations bill that traditionally is proposed by the White House and starts in the Senate and moves to the house after passage and so forth as any other law would. However with the politically charged atmosphere with so much agony over excessive spending and deficits, nobody especially the senaters wants to put their name on a year long appropriations bill.

So instead a Continuing Resolution or "Minibus" Budget is what is used to continue to fund the government for months at a time. That way the government gets funded without having to approve such a large amount at 1 time.

Unfortunately this doesn't provide the same political commercial content a full budget would for both sides so many politicians have opted to sling mud about the fact that a full year budget hasn't been passed in hopes of it bearing fruit eventually.

The guidelines for that budget are already in place. Once the sequester comes into play, the cuts will take place and we will have an official budget. Democrats wanted the sequester and Republicans are not standing in the way of letting it happen because cutting spending at this time only makes good fiscal sense.

We've had a budget. The continuing resolutions are extensions of the previous year's budget. We can't have budget deficits if we don't have a budget. The government just has not been writing up brand new budgets every year.

Claiming we haven't had a budget is playing the blame game. It's trying to assign blame for something that isn't even that relevant.

Edit: If there is no budget, how can there be budget deficits? You are playing with semantics.

The constitution says that the budget originates in the house. There's no mention in the constitution of a budget in the senate. The republicans are not following the constitution.
