Ford F-150: trying to get a louder rumble so other people can hear me coming?
I have a 1995 Ford F-150 XL; L-6 300 (inline 6/straight 6) and I want to get a better sound out of it. I have a glass pack on it but its not loud enough. I am just wondering what i could do to get a louder, tougher ruble outta this old truck. And i also dont want to take off the Cadillac converters. Thank you.
Ok...If getting a new exhaust system makes my friends truck louder, it will work on mine, they are the same truck. and im sorry i cant spell, its just a word i have never seen or had to write before on paper, just heard it verbally.
What would just straight piping off the converters sound like? or is that a no no?

Making your exhaust louder won't make people hear you coming because all the noise goes out the back. Also, it's a CATALYTIC converter, NOT Cadillac.

I'd just straight pipe it with cats, but it could start to sound like a rice burner cause thats what my friends sounds like with that setup. I have a 89 chevy K2500 V8 350 true duals with glasspacks and no cats since I live in Florida and we don't have inspections!!! and no check engine light. Cutting the cats is a "no no" if you have inspections and you might get a check engine light.
