Terrible gas milage on 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe?
Ive recently purchased a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. I have the 3.5L V6 5Speed version with 4WD. The car has just been recently fully serviced too [this was done on tuesday]. The gas milage is actually terrible and i have no idea what its problem is. I have driven a total of 117 miles and I have exactly half a tank left. The car was filled up two days ago. I live in suburban north atlanta but go to school in the city so I've done about 65 miles highway driving and the rest is suburban road driving. I dont drive above 70 when I am on the highway and I am pretty conservative about my gas pedal. Can someone explain why the gas milage is so terrible? is this normal? my friends who drive SUVs, even the giant ones, say they get at least 12-15mpg. thank you

usally the check engine light will come on if your getting that bad of a MPG. read some reviews on that car and see if everyone is having the same issue with bad MPG. other then that maybe a bad O2 sensor, can cause bad MPGs. or a bad gas level indicator, you might have more gas then it is registering. but really you won't know until check engine light comes on or something breaks on it to know what is going on

Im not being funny but even 12-15mpg in MASSIVELY BAD, oh wait that is america where no one cares how much stuff gets destroyed, as long as they have big engines.
For christs sake. For example a VW Polo Diesel can get 50-60+ mpg
Right rant over.
1.why the hell do you have a hyundai. Thats like eating stale kebab you found on a bus. you can do better !
2.its got a 3.5L V6 thats why
3.maybe it has a small tank
4.make sure you keep the revs low
5.maybe it is running a rich mixture

COULD BE A LOOSE HOSE, P.C.V. VALVE ISSUE , FUEL FILTER ISSUE , ETC. HAVE YOUR CAR TESTED WITH AN ENGINE ANALIZER .
