You are out of luck, I'm afraid.
Firstly, snakes dont really like people - they tolerate us at best.
Insect eating species are few and far between. Those available in captivity are sadly mostly wild caught. They do NOT tolerate handling well at all and are very easily stressed. They really dont make good "pets", especially not for beginner snake keepers.
Non-venomous isnt an issue, but if you want to get a relatively easy to care for snake that can be handled, you are going to have to feed some form of whole vertebrate prey; mice, rats, rabbits, chicks etc.
If you cant handle that, snakes really arent a suitable pet for you.....

Snakes eat rodents. Many will eat frozen/thawed mice or rats instead of live, but they still need whole rodents. Yes, even corn snakes, they eat mice.
That's it. If you need something that only eats bugs, then you just don't get a pet snake. Or a pet dog, cat, or fish since their food is also made from meat.
Also no snake will ever like you or enjoy being handled, some are just better at tolerating you than others.
It doesn't sound like snakes are for you. They're more display animals than play-things.

As said above, almost all snakes are going to need some type of whole prey item, if you are only weary of mice and rats, then chicks, quail, various sizes and ages of rabbits and guinea pigs are an option.
The only other snake that could work, if you can find one, is a species of egg eating snakes. But then these can be problematic, because they really do better with fertilized eggs. Unless of course you are near a farm, or have access to fertilized quail, chicken, duck, etc, eggs.
In general. if you aren't comfortable with feeding whole prey, then a snake is not really for you. And just so you know, you can feed frozen/thawed rodents, actually most people recommend it.

All of your common snake species are going to eat mice and rats. If you're not OK with that fact then I suggest you choose a different pet.
The only snake I know of that eats insects are rough green snakes. They are NOT handle-able due to their skittish nature and are usually wild caught which means parasites and low survival rate in captivity.
I'd contact your local herpetological society and get introduced to various species to see which one you'd like the best. Remember though, if you're not OK with feeding mice and rats a snake is not for you.
