Interesting how "reporting suspicious activity" when you're on a train (or anywhere, really) is about the same as the Thought Police in 1984. And with advances in technology like Facebook and the iPhone, our privacy has completely vanished.
Great book though. Really makes you question the power of the mind.

You should read "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis. It is a about the US becoming a police state with a charismatic Christian leading the erosion of liberties. The novel was written in the 1930s.

He recognized that Socialist society where man is enslaved. This is what the US is becoming if the current government and UN has it's way.
