Film presentation on Zulu, swinging 60's... help me film fanatics!!!?

Ok so im doing my film a level presentation on zulu (selected by my teacher) and I have to comment on how it reflects the 'swinging 60's'. I'm really stuck because yes it was made in the 60s/ 70s but it was set in 1872 so I have no idea what to write about in it?! I know it has michael caine in it which could be some relevance?

1--the 60s were well known for the growth of the anti-hero. zulu has quite a few anti-heros. they don't have the typical white hat, heroic attributes. you can talk about how they're antiheros.

2--the movie also shows soldiers becoming scared and threatening to desert, which is much different than how soldiers were portrayed in your typical WWII movie. its easy to see a parallel to soldiers in Vietnam becoming scared and deserting.

3--the priest is not portrayed in a very good light, which is also in line with the 60s rejection of religion.

4--the zulus are portrayed as proud, powerful warriors. that kind of respect for another culture, as paltry as it still is, was still beyond what other movies typically did.

You could make point's about the special effects of the movies and compare them with the special effects of the film industry today. For example,

The rifles that they use would have been powerful enough to blow off a limb but however, as this was the 60's, special effects hadn't stretched that far so they just resorted to using paintballs.

Don't write that exaclty by the way, you could go along those lines though. Just look at the special effects, the acting styles, just compare everything about that movie with today....That's the way i'd do it. Of course, I may be wrong but hey, i'm only trying to help, hope this helps :)
