Any suggestions for a good, gory movie set in medieval times or in American Civil War?

Just as long as it isn't something like Lord of the Rings.

Also, I have already watched Braveheart.

    I particularly liked King Arthur with Clive Owen and Keira Knightley, that would fit the bill nicely. And so would Robin Hood with Russell Crowe.
