Why is AMC replaying The Walking Dead in black and white? To me it makes the series less appealing. I love the series but taking away color kin of takes away from the show. What is their rationale?

The Running Live in rainbows. I think it's a nod to Night of the Living Dead. As someone else has noted, it has very low production costs to rerun even when touched up.

It appeals to a new kind of audience. Like my father likes watching black and white westerns, I suppose it would be like the same thing. And if people started watching season 3 and skipped 1&2, and don't know how to get on the computer to watch them, they could watch them from the beginning. It definitely won't lose them any viewers, because if you think it's stupid just don't want them.

100% Agree in black & white it's boring because you don't get to see all the great effects in color. I love The Walking Dead<3 & I hope Rick kills the governer lol.

night of the living dead !! walking dead !! all the same. Kind'a like Bugs Bunny the New one, looks something like him, sounds NOTHING like him [ Mel Blanc ], I think they give it the name COPYCAT !!!! almost but NOT quite as good as the original . Sorry folks The Walking Dead ,...thumbs DOWN !!!!

i think it is too make it like the comic book.

But it could be seen as a way to make the series "new" and get great viewership ratings ( probably) without the cost of making an entirely new episode.

also, i wonder if they think it will make it look more like the first of the "night of the living dead" movies.

Better doing replays in blank and white than doing it for newer episodes from now on.
