Is Bangladesh as different from Pakistan as it seems? The presentation is Bangla: poor, democratic, benign.?

Pak: violent, tense, many Islamists in the mountains who hate the West. Bangla, no Islamists, no jihadis. That's the media image I get in Britain.

Is it fair? And if there's truth in it, why is it so? Both places were taken out of Indai at Partition during the same political conflict, so why the differrence now?

Great Question first of all. Yes, you are right for the most part.Bangladeshi Muslims are probably the most peace loving Muslims alongside with Malaysians and Indonesians. We believe in equality among people and religion. Bangladesh is a secular country, were both Shia and Sunni Muslims exist in peace. Unlike in Pakistan, were shia Muslims are targeted. I personally have few really good hindu friends whom I hang out with a lot every time I go back home. I went to a British Christian Missionary school back in Bangladesh and had Christian teachers there. There is however a political group, who are linked with Pakistan, who commit acts of violence, but for the most part, Muslims in our country are very peace loving and loving and caring people.

Some notable ethnicity in Pakistan are, Pashtun and Punjabi (who mainly did the killing of Bengalis in 1971) are violent in nature. Pashtuns carry knifes with them all the time. I think it has to do more with their culture rather than the religion or how they practice it. Please remember that one should judge a religion by its context rather than its followers. One famous convert to Islam said, "I am thankful to God that I met Islam before I met Muslims".

Oh and btw, Pakis who "Claim" to be richer, they got all their wealth from the hardworking people of Bangladesh.Look up, this was the reason we kicked out Pakistan from Bangladesh.

No, it is completely wrong. Pakistan is richer, more powerful & a militarily strong nation(having nuclear power too better weapons than India) with five stock exchanges & 140 universities(better than Indian average as India has only 287 universities for 8 times more population). Bangladesh is poorest country of the world(thanks to India) & a very small army of only < 90,000 troops. All terrorist activities in Pakistan only RAW is doing. Till December, 2013, all RAW & CIA agents in that will be eliminated & Pakistan will test fire nuclear capable Tipu II ICBM missile of range 15,500 km. Bangladesh does not have military & arms to protect itself even for a day but Pakistan's defence is impregnable.
