What happens to medicines that justifies their expiry dates? Or is this just a drug companies' ruse to?
to boost their sales and profits by pretending that medicines' effectiveness wears out? Or is the real truth that a few medicines DO deteriorate over time, but most don't?
3 AnswersMedicine7 years agoIs therre any point in teaching algebra in schools?
Some academic subjects typically taught in school have obvious life benefits - English, one or two foreign languages, arithmetic, geography. I appreciate having some education in physics and history, and I can see the point of giving children a chance to shine in chemistry though it has never been of use to me personally. But algebra? Does anyone other than a professional mathematician ever have a use for it? If not, why not teach it only at university to those who choose maths for their degree?
1 AnswerPrimary & Secondary Education7 years agowhat microphone do you recommend to buy online in UK to use with Audacity?
to record conversation in a room on a Netbook and be able to edit it. Good enough quality needed for home playback but not top rank quality. Limited budget so forget it if it costs over £100.
1 AnswerOther - Computers7 years agoI hear I'd get a lot more nutrition from sesame & linseeds if I could crush them. Is this poppycock or?
is there some significant level of truth in it? And if so, what's the name of the gadget that would pulverise tiny seeds? In my ordinary Moulinex grinder that works for walnuts and almonds, they simply go round and round untouched.

1 AnswerBotany8 years agoIs Bangladesh as different from Pakistan as it seems? The presentation is Bangla: poor, democratic, benign.?
Pak: violent, tense, many Islamists in the mountains who hate the West. Bangla, no Islamists, no jihadis. That's the media image I get in Britain.
Is it fair? And if there's truth in it, why is it so? Both places were taken out of Indai at Partition during the same political conflict, so why the differrence now?
6 AnswersPolitics8 years agoOn my laptop's shut-down menu one of the options is 'install updates and shut down'. Unfortunately?
I have a rogue "update" that won't load but will keep on and on presenting itself. Can I get rid of it so it won't come back?

6 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoWhy are UK funeral directors' charges so high? 4 pallbearers @ manual wage, say £8/hr = £32. Admin about 10?
hrs @ say £15/hr = £150. £50 for the hearse for 1 hr. Double these costs to cover office overheads, fair profit, and marketing would make total up to £464. Add say £30/day for an average of 2 weeks for storing the body, = £420. Total £884. But they actually charge three times that, so what am I missing? Do they have a cartel or are there some genuine faults in my economics or costs I haven't thought of?
