I have been given a Samsung phone with a sim card but when I transferred the sim to another phone I get my sms?
old messages list but i can't make phone calls. What can I do?

Some data is stored on the sim card and is transferred from phone to phone... the reason you can't make calls is most likely because it is not registered with that provider
