My lady friend talks about sex with me?

I have a lady friend that I have known for a year now. She lives in another state we are not near each other whatsoever. We just communicate by texting, emailing, or Facebook. We are very similar like, except that she is 9 years older than me. We have same likes, and dislikes. She is very insecure and just like me, has problems with dating and being in a relationship, a serious one, just like the one I want. I am a very good friend of hers and we get along all so well. She is crazy at times, but so am I, we are very open minded with each other, and I like that. At times during our conversations, she tends to speak about her wanting to have sex, and she takes birth control pills. I have told her that I am still a virgin and that I would enjoy to experience sex, but she never mentions nor do I having sex with each other. And considering that she lives thousands of miles away I know that I have no chance with her, I would like to meet her but just to know her in person, she is a very great friend, I can say, I love her, she tells me she loves me to in the friendzoned way though. I guess she just sees a very good friend in me, and she can trust me, but at times she seems like she wants to tell me something, and she gives me advice about dating and what girls I should listen to and talk to.But I don't know if it is normal for friends like this to talk about sex and stuff if they are just friends?
