Army family moving to another state, how does the government cover the expenses?

I am an AGR

my first duty station is 1600 miles away, I have to rent a U-Haul, a few hundred to $2000 cost.

at my rank, E5, with dependents, I saw the government may cover about $1300-1600 or something.

My question is am I going to be reimbursed or I will be paid at the fixed rate?

Update:

AJ, AGR is full time Reserve, which means I get all the benefits that AD gets, we are Active Reserve.

One weekend per Month is USAR, we are not the same.

Thanks.

This is called a "Dity Move" or "Do it yourself move", you will get a fixed rate based on the mileage that you travel. The government is usually extremely generous when providing funds for these moves. You always make a few hundred dollars off of Dity Moves.

The first thing you need to do is talk to the finance and movement offices on whatever post is closest to you. If you are not within driving distance then talking to them on the phone should be fine.

If you are not able to cover the expenses for the move then the Army will move you. They will come, pack up all of your stuff, move it to your new location, and unpack it. Again, talk to the movement office and they will be able to help you.

Which you could register it in both position. I'd seem at which state has the cheapest property taxes. Same approach you possibly can in the event you lived on a state border and purchased the vehicle in an extra state. In the event you register it in Kansas, you're going to extra then probably need to get a speedy type from the JAG office and a replica of his orders taking you there when you consider that you are not a Kansas resident. They can noterize it right on the JAG workplace. You do not must get a brand new DL, as a stylish, you desire a present one. Your husband can use an expired one so long as he is still within the navy.

Buzzz. Wrong. AGR does not PCS. AGR means you are either National Guard or Army Reserve who is on duty all the time, aka full time, compared to others who are on duty 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer. Also the soldiers who are AGR are either Senior NCOs(SFC or higher) or Officers.

    This question is factually inaccurate.
