Christians: do you ever pray god to end hunger in the world?

If you do, I'm sure he's not listening to you. What sayest thou?

Update:

bagsy: I feel the love, bro.

Yes, every day. There is a reason for hunger, and suffering in the world. God will answer, over time.

Give them food instead of praying. SIMPLE! Obviously prayers don't work!

Millions may pray and all but one seems not to have had his wish granted. The Church counts the one who seems to have had her wish granted and ignores the millions who came up empty and died without intercession. Likewise, when the media report on natural disasters, they are fond of the story of the survivor who thanks some god and basks in the glory of the miracle that saved him, but they never print a story blaming a god for the thousands or hundreds of thousands who were killed in the earthquake or the tsunami. It doesn't occur to the survivor or the media that if it was just circumstance that led to the deaths of thousands, it was also merely circumstance that led to anyone surviving.

there was a man who said that to his friend.

I was wondering why God doesn't do anything about world hunger.

    His friend replied.

    why don't you ask him?

He thought for a moment and said..

Because I'm afraid he will ask me the same question.

Sure you can say God has the power to make heaven on earth, and he also promised it for eternity in heaven.

So there. he did his part.

What about for the time being? are you doing your part?

how many people could you have fed had you not spent money for your leisure and entertainment?

one of the things that will never make me side with atheism, even if God himself came down and said the atheists were right.

its because they use their so called intellect to avoid doing good to their fellowmen and instead use it as an excuse to attack people they claim to be "bringing out into the light of reason"

if all the reason in the world will make me a person like you?

    no thanks.

id rather be a dumb person who helps his fellowman

than a smart jac@ss who spends his time in Y&A blaming something he doesn't believe exists for the problems that he should be doing something about,

i prayed a few times about the matter.

God led me to a food pantry

It might not have ended world hunger but i do wonder if i had stayed where would it have gotten me.

I pray for my daily bread. Never have I prayed for others daily bread. Honestly, I did not see beyond me and I think others were also least bothered. How will He listen to unasked prayers?

jesus already told us we will always have the poor with us

Even if they do so, you know that it does no good. Never is a "prayer" answered.
