Yes you will need a C or above in English and Maths. and you should go for a Child Care course or anything else to do with children and young people.
I would say though After you have done school after year 11 go to college get on a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in children and young people's workforce. Level 2-3 depending the gcse's you come out with. I Know when I did Mine I had to do Level 2 child and and education I had to get 2 c's one of them had to be English and the other c in anything else. The Level 3 you had to get a C in English and 4 C or above in any other subjects.

I know this is late but for anybody else who's reading the thread and wondering, basically all you actually need is at least a grade C in maths and english.
To get a better chance over others in interviews would be to get higher than a C and to get more than just maths and english.
Then after school, you would go to college for two years and complete your Level 3 in Childcare. This qualification normally involves 4 days in a placement at a nursery in a school or a day nursery. Then the other day you're at college learning. During your time in placement, your assessor will come out and observe you (this was particularly hard for me, what with having anxiety and panic attacks!)
Then when you've completed your level 3, you can go onto being a full time nursery nurse! Sometimes the nursery you did your placement with might actually take you on as a full time role!!

Learning the foundational studying abilities will allow your youngster to concentrate on understanding the subject they're studying as opposed to struggle with knowledge the language finally ultimately causing an even more satisfying and satisfying reading experience and that is in what this program Children Learning Reading from here https://tr.im/nR56U is based.

To be able to assistance one to train your youngster these excellent phrases an information is presented to the most frequent words that must be learnt by sight.
That bonus can be especially helpful in the event that you and your son or daughter are struggling with a specific word. You know that if the phrase is included in the information then it's something that can't be trained applying the Children Learning Reading method.

You need average to good G.C.S.E results to apply to college to do the N.N.E.B course which is internationally recognised. This is normally a two year full time course or you can now do the NVQ course which allows you to work while training.
you can do a btec,NNEB diploma or nvq level 3 to be a fully qualifed nursery nurse.
i did the nneb diploma, which is a full time course for 2 years, in which you do spend half your time in college and half in placement. the placements are private day care nursery, nursery school and reception class and also 2 weeks with a family.
with the nvq you wok in a nursery whist studing . You mainly do your written work in your own time, and occassionally see a tutor.
personally i think the nneb offers the best course in regards to experience and support, but you really need to decide which is best for you

Hi, i'm doing a diploma in childcare at the moment. To get onto the course that i'm doing I needed 5 or more GCSEs at grade c or above. I suggest you do health and social care if that's an option at the school that you are going to. In health and social care you will learn about development of children and other things to do with health and well-being. Choose other subjects that you'll be good at. You will probably need to have some GCSE based on childcare

Sociology or Health and Social care would be good if your school offer it, Food technology may also help as you will have knowledge on different eating needs of children such as gluten free etc and the best nutrition for children.
And what ever you enjoy to be honest, just try your best to get C's and above.
Good luck and enjoy your time at school!
